Hi! My name is Kristi and I love tea!
Throughout my early years growing up in Southern California I have always had a passion for tea and have had an undying love for cooking. I can think back and remember around the age of twelve, I attended my first afternoon tea. A cup of Darjeeling tea and the whole ceremony of afternoon tea is all it took for me to want to dive more into this world and never look back. I attended the California School of Culinary Arts and graduated with a Le Cordon Bleu certification in 2003, then started my career as a pastry chef at The Getty Museum in Los Angeles. In 2004 I stumbled upon a brand new tea shop in Glendora, California by the name Two A Tea. The business aesthetic was elegant and quaint with teacups galore, beautiful linens, and delicious assortments of loose leaf teas and tea-time snacks. I began working there and the rest is history. By 2008 I had purchased and taken over the tea shop as the new owner and ran it successfully until 2014. It was a very happy time in my life. I was able to combine all of the things I loved...cooking, tea, serving others and entrepreneurship. From the scones and tea sandwiches to the new tea blends I could fabricate, my creativity was definitely able to flourish everyday. My most popular items from my tea shop, besides the teas of course, were Butternut Squash Soup with Italian sausage and fresh sage, a strawberry goat cheese salad with a flavorful homemade poppyseed dressing, lemon lavender scones, and a delicious roasted vegetable sandwich with feta cream cheese spread. I loved every minute of my time at my little tea shop.
In 2014 life and love took me to Colorado when I met and married my husband Byron and became a family of four with his two amazing kids Aidan and Abby. We have made a lovely home in Castle Rock, Colorado, which really is “as pretty as a picture”. Byron and I were also blessed with our son Jack in 2018. This child definitely keeps us moving and motivated for each and every day with his energy and sweet demeanor.
I started The Traveling Teapot because I wanted to bring a piece of my tea shop to my new friends and customers in Colorado. It gives me joy to provide you with unique and delicious flavors of tea and to encourage you to see your cup of tea as a way to care for yourself and treat yourself well. Tea is a big part of my personal wellness routine and I love to provide that for others as well.
We pride ourselves on having something for everyone. Whether you are a black tea drinker, a green tea drinker, or need something with no caffeine, we have a flavor for you, and best of all...new flavors are being added all the time! We also have a wide array of tea infusers to suit every personality and gifts for those you love.
We really want to thank you for supporting our small business! Our customers mean the world to us and we're so glad you're here!
Cheers!
Kristi
